COMMON QUERIES

WHAT SHOULD THE CUSTOMER KNOW ABOUT YOUR PRICING (E.G., DISCOUNTS, FEES)?

If a client is traing once a week, i charge $40 an hour.   If the come two or three times a week, the cost in $35 an hour.   For those wishing my best price i have a package deal where you pay for 36 sessions up front which brings the price down to $25 an hour.   That's 36 sessions for only $900 dollars.

WHAT IS YOUR TYPICAL PROCESS FOR WORKING WITH A NEW CUSTOMER?

I design everything around the client’s goals. In general I like to train them 2 or 3 times a week at my gym and expect them to do cardio off sight on their own time. This saves them money, and allows for results. Still, everything is individual so this can change depending upon the clients goals.

WHAT EDUCATION AND/OR TRAINING DO YOU HAVE THAT RELATES TO YOUR WORK?

I am a certified Master Fitness Trainer through the International Sports Sciences Association Additionally I am a certified Strength and Conditioning Coach, Specialist in Fitness Nutrition, Specialist in Exercise Therapy that can help those that went through therapy for an injury but need additional help. Additionally I am a Youth Fitness Trainer which is a specialty which very few trainers have. Training youth client's gives them an edge up on their peers when they get into sports. I am one of the few trainers in the area that is certified as a Youth Fitness Trainer. I am also certified as a Physical Fitness Specialist through the Ohio Peace Officer Training Academy, and have been certified as a Strength Coach by Nautilus. As the former lead fitness instructor at the University of Akron's Law Enforcement Training Center and working at my private studio, I have over 25 years experience training others.

HOW DID YOU GET STARTED DOING THIS TYPE OF WORK?

Fitness has always been a necessity in everything I did, and do. I was a high school and college athlete. Afterward, I became a police officer, and of course fitness was a necessity there as well. When I got into SWAT, it was again a requirement. As a trainer, I cannot ask my clients to do something I am not willing to do, and finally as a SCUBA diver, it is necessary to be fit to be in the underwater environment! Simply put, fitness allows you to ENJOY life, instead of simply living it!   I guess the answer is that I always needed to be fit and want to share what I have with others.

WHAT TYPES OF CUSTOMERS HAVE YOU WORKED WITH?

I train my clients according to their individual needs.   I have had people that strive for weight loss, to build muscle and many other personal reasons.   I have helped those work around injuries, those under 18 and even those with diseases such as MS.   The importance is to design a fitness and health program around the individual.

HOW ARE YOU DIFFERENT FROM A REGULAR TRAINER AT A GYM?

I am a Master Trainer and have been training others for 26 years now.   I am certified to train many different populations.   I know of very few other trainers with my experience and who has been training others as long as I have in this area!

WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE A CUSTOMER LOOKING TO HIRE A PROVIDER IN YOUR AREA OF WORK?

When choosing a personal trainer, experience is everything. Simply put, someone that has been training people for a long time have seen a lot which gives them guidance when choosing the right program for a person. Experience is everything!

WHAT QUESTIONS SHOULD CUSTOMERS THINK THROUGH BEFORE TALKING TO PROFESSIONALS ABOUT THEIR PROJECT?

What are your goals. I don't mean simple goals, but more refined ones. Getting into shape can mean many things. Ask yourself what "getting into shape" means to you. Does it mean running a marathon or being able to bench press 300 lbs. How a trainer designs the plan is based upon the input YOU give them!   Tell the trainer that you want to lose weight, gain muscle, have a better sprint time or whatever YOU specific goal is.   That is key to your success!
